Onion Herb Bread

cup milk

tablespoons sugar

teaspoons salt
5
teaspoons butter
2
packages dry yeast
1
cup very warm water

cups flour

tablespoons instant minced onion
2
tablespoons dried dill weed

Scald
milk and remove from heat. Stir in
sugar, salt and butter until dissolved.
Cool mixture to lukewarm. In a
large bowl, dissolve the yeast in water.
Add cooled milk mixture. Stir
flour into yeast mixture. Add minced
onions and dill weed. Stir together
until well-blended, about 2 minutes.
Cover with a cotton towel and let rise until about tripled in bulk
(approximately 1-½ hours). Punch down
and separate into 2 pieces. Place each piece into separate eight-inch, greased
pans and spread dough until it is covering the pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes to an hour. Brush with butter and sprinkle with salt.
Makes
two loaves.
